Innovative Approaches for the Evaluation of Animal Health Surveillance Systems: Moving from Research to Policy Decision

 The French Agricultural Research Center for International Development (CIRAD) in collaboration with The Vietnam National Institute of Veterinary Research (NIVR) organized the 2^nd REVASIA research program workshop , on 16^th  June 2015 at Vietnam National Institute of Veterinary Research , focusing on “from research to policy decision “to discuss more on a methodology to address this issue and review the impact of Research to Policy decision. During the workshop we presented the methodology to evaluate the impact of research activities. The output of the application of this method to the evaluation of REVASIA research program impact was also presented.

The main objective of REVASIA research program was to develop innovative tools  and methodologies for the evaluation and design of efficient animal health surveillance (and control) systems to inform the design of cost-effective and sustainable surveillance strategies . REVASIA activities in Vietnam have been implemented in collaboration between NIVR, the Vietnam National University of Hanoi (VNUA), The National Institute for Animal Sciences (NIAS), the Department of Animal Health (DAH) and CIRAD. The activities required to ensure evidence based improvement animal health surveillance in Vietnam were discussed along with the list of actions needed to reach this outcome . Working group discussion was performed to review and discuss feasibility of the recommendations and to develop action plan.
